The Role
As a QA Automation Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality of our software products through the implementation of automated testing and leading a team of skilled QA engineers.
In this position, you will be responsible for developing and implementing automation strategies and frameworks, guiding your team in creating and maintaining automated test scripts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality software releases.
You will be based at our Fleet Head Office and work on a hybrid basis. It is expected that you will spend at least one day a week in the office, but this may increase up to 3 days per week as the team grows.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement automation strategies and frameworks to improve efficiency and quality of testing processes
- Lead a team of QA engineers, providing guidance, mentoring, and training
- Create and maintain automated test scripts to validate software functionality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and project managers, to determine test requirements and timelines
- Perform code reviews of automated test scripts and provide feedback for improvements
- Monitor and analyze test results, identify issues, and work with the development team to troubleshoot and resolve
- Keep up to date with industry best practices and emerging trends in QA automation
Essential:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in software QA, with focus on automation
- Proven experience in leading a team of QA engineers
- Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar
- Experience with test management and defect tracking tools, such as Jira or Bugzilla
- Proficiency in a programming language, such as Java or Python
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems, such as Jenkins and Git
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies
Desirable:
- ISTQB or other relevant testing certifications
- Experience with performance and load testing tools, such as JMeter
- Experience with mobile testing frameworks, such as Appium
- Experience working in an e-commerce or job board industry
